Kinsey's quilt

This is Kinsey's first full size quilt. She made it for herself and finished it here at my house this week while visiting. The quilt blocks are 10" finished and are in 5x6. Then the 3 borders. The second border she pieced out of scraps from the quilt that she cut to 4" and the 3rd border is 10". She quilted rectangles over the whole thing. I LOVE this pattern and her materials. And the binding - I helped pick that one out! Well done Kizzy!

My Stars and Stripes

This is my FABULOUS quilt! I LOVE it! I started working on it at the beginning of the month and my nesting instincts just kind of took over. It's also the first quilt that I haven't done any in the ditch quilting. I quilted all the lines into the panels and stars in the squares and was really thrilled with the results. I took the same idea for the border. It's queen sized and cuddle approved by Zane! He wanted to take it to bed with him tonight so I guess that makes it a good one!

Quilting up a storm!

I stayed home in Raymond after Christmas and mom and I quilted every waking moment that we could squeeze in! Here's the end products!

This is the quilt that I posted earlier finished with the chocolate brown and the binding. I'm thrilled with how it turned out!Mom cut and ironed 6 double receiving blankets for me and I quilted and edged them all. They each have a different shape quilted and I tried different combos of colors for the edging. I'm really happy with them all! These are the single blankets mom hemmed for me....and yes, I did need all these blankets. Two boys with the same blankets make for some well-used blankies! This gorgeous and fabulous blanket Kinsey made for me! I love all the applique stuff she did and she quilted a million stars on as well. Thanks Kizzy for finishing it for me!And of course bibs and burp rags! We had tons of fun quilting, choosing fabric, shopping, etc! When mom gets her quilt done I'll post some pics up here!

Rails in Green and Blue

I have made this quilt 2x now. Basically I made enough squares for 3 baby quilts and have assembled 2 now. I used an assortment of greens and blues with some tan/brown tones in there as well and trimmed both with the dark brown border and green binding It's a very basic rail pattern and I'm really thrilled with the way they turned out. I forgot to take pictures of the first one which I gave to my friend Janice for her baby and this one is for my friend Megan and her baby boy. I machine quilted the horizontal and vertical rows to outline the main squares and then traced squares onto the border which I machine quilted as well. The first binding I hand finished and this one I machine finished. I like the plain flannel on the back as the front is so busy and I also think it brings the pattern of machine quilting out better. I plan on using a brown flannel for the third one.
