For Christmas this year my sister Kinsey proposed the idea to make my mom a quilt. She and I, along with mom, LOVE to quilt. And so we planned. Between Kinsey and my stashes we had enough material for the top. Kinsey pieced it. My other sister Alisha contributed by buying the batting and the border material (her quilting gene is a little recessive and hasn't kicked in yet -we're waiting patiently) and we made the trade off at Thanksgiving when we went out for mom and dad's anniversary. This was supposed to give ME lots of time to put the quilt together and machine quilt it. Um, yeah. I almost didn't get it done. I sewed the binding on 2 days before we left for Southern Alberta and Kinsey and I stayed up until 3 am Christmas Eve morning to turn the binding so mom could open it finished. Her reaction made it ALL worth it!
The label hasn't been added yet...I need to mail it. But it's going to say:

Great quilts! I hope I have a recessive quilt gene hiding somewhere!
